My boyfriend and I stayed at La Casa de Maruja B&B for 7 nights and it was the perfect base for mountain activities. The hotel is family run, a beautiful welcoming place with clean warm rooms, hot showers and a large delicious breakfast included every morning.

This was the perfect place for me and my sister to start our trip into the mountains.
Gilf and Maruja were great hosts, ready to help us organize our trip with maps, information,
supplies (such as liquid fuel), and more.

We really enjoyed our stay at Casa de Maruja. The owners treated us like family, we received very nice breakfasts, coca tea was constantly available, and we could use the kitchen too.

After staying for a month in Huaraz, including several hikes in the area. And I only stayed at La casa de Maruja during my visit in Huaraz. Sure it is a little outside the center but it is only a collectivo (1 Sol) or a taxi ( 4 Sol ) away.

Maruja, Gilf and their children made my stay in the hostel very special. They are always caring and offer great hospitality. The breakfast is rich and delicious, the rooms are spacious and clean. During my stay there was always hot water available.
